The industry is very welcome to provide consumers with more information through the logo on clothing and textile products.

Once the bill is passed by the EU ministerial conference, the European Commission will be responsible for its implementation.

The industry has the necessary professional knowledge and practical experience to ensure that the new logo system not only brings accurate information to consumers, but also can be widely applied in practice.


For many years, international fur

association

(IFTF) the application of the marking system has been encouraged, and the voluntary identification system of two industries has been promoted: a spontaneous, applied Latin name in all fur products to identify fur animal species, and a system for identifying the generic names of fur species in local languages of English and / or fur animals.

The OA IFTF was launched by the International Fur Trade Association (IFTF) and its global industrial partners.

It is intended to tell consumers that fur with OA logo is derived from a country with animal welfare regulations or standards to supervise fur production.


"In view of the fact that we have been promoting the sign of origin protection and encouraging the use of animal species identification system, the International Fur Association has been well prepared to assist the European Commission in ensuring its rational and effective application of the new labeling system and avoiding too many cumbersome procedures," said Andy Lenhart, chairman of the International Fur Association.

"Our fur industry firmly believes that consumers have the right to make decisions on their own consumption and that decisions should be based on accurate information."
