Yesterday afternoon in the ward of the People's Hospital of Wuhan University, 9-year-old Liu Jiahui did math problems under the guidance of a patient friend. The temperature in the ward was not high, even cool, but Xiaojiahui stepped on the terrazzo floor barefoot, with a fan blowing at her feet. "Doesn't it mean that the symptoms have eased?" the reporter asked Xiaojiahui's mother Huang Xiaohong, who said, "She has been doing this for six years and is psychologically dependent."

When I was 3 years old, I had to soak my feet in cold water when I got hot

In December 2000, Liu Jiahui was born in Rongchang County, Chongqing. Huang Xiaohong recalled that her daughter went to kindergarten at the age of 3. A month later, the school teacher told her that Xiaojiahui said that her feet were very hot every few days. Parents and teachers thought it was caused by sports and play, but they didn't care. But within a few months, Xiaojiahui's feet were burned more and more frequently, almost once a day. When she burned, she felt pain like a fire, even affecting her walking.

Huang Xiaohong said that when she was a child, she did the same thing. She shook her feet when she was scalded, and it was OK. She didn't have any treatment. Since then, when Xiaojiahui's feet were hot, her mother soaked her feet with cold water.

However, Xiaojiahui is not so lucky as her mother. From the age of 5, his feet became more and more scalded, and he had to put his feet on the ground when sleeping; You should bring an ice pillow to school. Both school and home should prepare an electric fan. Once you get sick, you will keep blowing to cool down. From then on, Xiaojiahui began to wear no shoes, and even in winter she often went barefoot.

The reporter saw that Xiaojiahui's skin color below the knees of her legs was obviously red, her feet were swollen and out of proportion to her body, and her legs were wrapped with bandages. Huang Xiaohong said that as she grew older, her daughter's foot pain gradually spread to her legs, and the bandaged parts began to fester. Because the fan was on, the little girl held her cold arms together, but her feet never dared to leave.

Come to Han for medical treatment

Her family took Xiaojiahui to Chongqing, Chengdu, Beijing and other places for medical treatment. Finally, she was diagnosed with erythematous acrodynia - the blood in the veins and arteries at the end of the limbs suddenly increased flow for unknown reasons, and a large amount of blood accumulated in the blood vessels, leading to limb redness and swelling; The increase of blood vessel pressure will stimulate local nerve endings, and patients will feel pain.

Finding the cause did not bring much hope to the family, because the doctor also said that there was no effective way to treat the disease at present.

Huang Xiaohong didn't give up. She searched for similar cases everywhere through the Internet and contacted patients to exchange treatment experience

In March this year, Huang Xiaohong took her daughter to Hu Jiacai, an associate professor of traditional Chinese medicine at Hubei Provincial People's Hospital.

After treatment, Xiao Jiahui's ulcerated feet began to heal, and the pain symptoms were relieved. On May 3, however, she was admitted to the intensive care unit because of a sudden varicella outbreak. "The notice of critical illness has been issued several times, and it's really not easy for her to survive." Huang Xiaohong said in tears.

Little adults in the ward

Huang Xiaohong said that many years of treatment cost at least nearly 500000 yuan. She divorced for seven years and raised her family by boiling water in a university canteen. Every time she saw her daughter, she had to borrow money.

Two patients in the ward said that Xiaojiahui was very sensible, like a little adult. She once said that she had this disease and would not marry or have children in the future. "How could a 9-year-old child say that?"

The doctor said that at present, Xiaojiahui's condition has been controlled, and she has not felt her feet burned in the past 20 days, but it does not rule out the possibility of recurrence in the future. This afternoon, she will leave the hospital and return to her hometown in Chongqing.
