2011 International Forum On Sustainable Development Of Textiles Concluded Successfully

Taiwan Textile Development Association held "sustainable development of textile industry in 2011" international The forum closed successfully, and invited 15 introductions and speakers from inside and outside Taiwan to attract 207 participants from 16 countries and abroad.

The forum set up the elite of the global textile industry, focusing on the issue of environmental protection, so as to open a dialogue on the cooperation of the industrial supply chain. With the increasing environmental protection and corporate social responsibility issues international Attention should be paid to Taiwan textile industry's efforts to establish green production and marketing advantages and create new business opportunities.

Forum by Wharton Business School lecturer, Wal-Mart before global Purchase Executive director and senior vice president, Edwin Keh keynote speech. He said that the future competitive advantage needs to be constructed in two aspects: quality and energy. The quality is focused on the traceability of products and the reduction and removal of harmful substances. Energy is saved by the cost per unit of production cost. That is to say, the future development of supply chain with high quality, energy saving and cooperation will be the most profitable and sustainable enterprise in the next ten years.

The forum will be held in three phases to discuss the market of sustainable products. Marketing International textile experts and scholars, such as You Xurong, Fu Mao, President and CEO of TC [USA], Dr. Michael T. Fralix, and so on, share their experience with the supply chain partnership, the technology and innovation trend of environmental textiles, and the possibility of integrating the sustainability and environmental protection standards of textile industry.
